To make the most of our time at home with family, I’ve gathered 11 of my favourite Easter recipes and DIY projects to enjoy this spring. These ideas are simple, family-friendly, and perfect for creating warm memories together.
I love spring — the flowers, the fresh recipes, and the fun crafts that come with it. This Easter we’ll be doing an egg hunt around the yard and house for Charlie and Max, likely in our matching PJ’s. The days are getting warmer and longer, and I couldn’t be happier.

Our family usually has a big Easter gathering where we go all out. A couple of years ago Jillian organized an incredible egg hunt and Justin surprised the kids by dressing as a giant Easter Bunny. We’ll miss our extended family again this year, like many of you, but we’re doing our best to make it special with our little family of four.
If you’re searching for inspiration this year, you’ve come to the right place.

From naturally dyed Easter eggs to Carrot Cake Waffles, these recipes and projects are designed to be easy and enjoyable for the whole family. You can also make simple Easter Bunny napkins to dress the table — they’re adorable and quick to fold. There’s a helpful video tutorial if you prefer visual instructions.
I also remembered we did a “Dietitian’s Easter Egg Hunt” a couple of years ago, which offers a healthier take on a classic egg hunt and works well year-round (a little chocolate never hurts!).
I hope your Easter is filled with love and joyful family moments.

10 Easter Recipes and DIY’s to Make at Home

Naturally Dyed Easter Eggs
These naturally dyed eggs are beautiful and make a fun kitchen experiment for kids. Try different fruits, vegetables, and spices to create a variety of colours and patterns — and feel free to share what combinations worked best for you.

Easter Dinner Menu
Even if you’re not hosting a large gathering this year, you can still make the meal feel special by dressing up the table with what you have on hand. Simple touches like egg cup flower holders and a few garden-picked blooms add charm. Use what’s available and let the kids help arrange the table.

Easter Bunny Napkin Tutorial
This is one of my favourite crafts — easy, cute, and reusable. We used foam eggs from a craft store that I keep and reuse each year. These napkin bunnies instantly brighten the table and are a fun project to fold with kids.

No-Bake Chocolate Haystack Cookies
This healthier take on classic haystack cookies is nostalgic and delicious. Shape them into small nests and place mini chocolate eggs in the center for an adorable Easter treat that kids love.

Sicilian Citrus Ricotta Bundt Cake
This moist lemon-packed cake is a family favourite. It’s beautifully fragrant and makes a lovely gift for neighbours or parents — or a special dessert for your own table.
Carrot Cake Waffles or Pancakes
Perfect for Easter brunch, these carrot cake waffles or pancakes can be made ahead and reheated in the toaster after the egg hunt for a quick and comforting breakfast everyone will enjoy.

Lemon Almond Ricotta Cake
This cake is moist, dense, and perfectly satisfying. A slice with a cup of tea makes for a very happy afternoon — simple and refined.
Rum Raisin Hot Cross Buns
Soaking raisins in rum is optional, especially if serving kids, but it adds a lovely depth of flavour to these classic hot cross buns. They’re a comforting, spiced treat for the holiday.

Spring Salad with Lemon Vinaigrette
A gorgeous spring salad brightens any meal. Use whatever seasonal vegetables you have — asparagus, peas, radishes, or edible flowers — and toss with a creamy lemon vinaigrette for a fresh, vibrant side.

Seafood Linguine
This bright pasta uses frozen peas and shrimp to keep things low fuss while delivering big flavour. It’s lighter than many traditional Easter mains and makes a delightful alternative for a spring meal.

Vegan Easter Bunny Pop Tarts
These vegan bunny pop tarts are irresistibly cute and fun to make. They’re a playful, homemade twist on a nostalgic treat that kids will adore.
If you try any of these recipes or DIYs, I’d love to hear about it in the comments — happy Easter, friends!
