About this recipe
This Chicken Ramen Noodles recipe takes humble instant ramen and turns it into a more complete, tasty meal. It’s quick enough for a weeknight and substantial enough to serve the whole family.
Many of us have relied on ramen at one time or another — in college, as a quick snack, or as an occasional comfort meal. With a few additions, ramen becomes more balanced and visually appealing.

We use a quick breading and searing method—similar to oven-fried buttermilk chicken—by browning the chicken in a skillet, then finishing it in a hot oven. If you prefer, use diced chicken cooked on the stovetop, shredded rotisserie chicken, or leftover roasted chicken for the same great result.
For this version we start with skinless, boneless chicken breasts and follow a straightforward breading routine: flour, beaten egg, then breadcrumbs. After a short sear in hot oil, the chicken finishes in the oven until cooked through.
Variations & substitutions
- Steak or pork, sliced or cubed
- Shrimp or other seafood
- Tofu for a vegetarian option
- Roasted peppers, sautéed mushrooms, or other vegetables
- Use rotisserie or leftover roasted chicken to save time

This recipe was born when a quick grocery run and a kid’s choice of ramen inspired us to add a protein and a few simple touches. The result was an affordable, fast meal that looked and tasted a lot more special than plain instant noodles.
I cooked this on a relaxed afternoon and the kids loved it — the crunchy, golden chicken combined with seasoned ramen made a memorable, flavorful meal. Try it yourself to see how easily ramen becomes a full dinner with a few pantry staples.

Transform classic dorm or pantry food into a genuine meal by pairing ramen with protein, a little cheese, and optional veggies.

Chicken Ramen Noodles
Ingredients
- 2 (8 oz) chicken breasts, skinless and boneless
- 4 packets ramen noodles, instant variety (3 oz each)
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Set up three shallow bowls for breading: flour, beaten egg, and panko breadcrumbs. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into the egg, let excess drip off, then coat with breadcrumbs. Repeat for both breasts.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the breaded chicken and brown on each side for about five minutes. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches a safe internal temperature.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest briefly. Prepare the ramen noodles according to package instructions, mixing the noodles with the included seasoning packets. Cut the chicken into 1/2″ cubes and toss with the prepared noodles. Stir in the grated Parmesan and serve immediately. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
