Baked Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders Recipe for Game Day and Parties

I had been trying to get my family to eat fewer drive-thru meals and more home-cooked food. It wasn’t easy—until I served these Baked Bacon and Cheeseburger Sliders. They’re a fresh twist on classic sandwich recipes and far better than typical fast-food sliders.

Made with quality ground beef, these sliders are flavorful and simple to prepare. My family loves them and asks for them often. They pair well with baked fries, onion rings, or your favorite salad.

I was invited to participate in the #LaurasLean campaign sponsored by Laura’s Lean. I was compensated, and all opinions are my own.

How to make bacon cheeseburger sliders

These sliders make about 12 mini sandwiches. I prefer Laura’s Lean ground beef because it’s a lean option with good flavor, and it’s sourced from cattle raised without added hormones or antibiotics. If you want a lighter ground beef option, their 92% or 96% lean ground beef works well in this recipe.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray and slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves in the prepared pan.

In a large skillet, add 1 pound of ground beef and the packet of onion soup mix. Cook over medium heat, breaking up the meat and stirring until it’s browned and no longer pink. While the beef cooks, crisp the bacon in a separate pan or in the oven, then set it aside on paper towels to drain.

Once the beef is cooked, spoon it evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls in the baking dish. Top the beef with cheddar slices so the meat is covered. Add bacon slices cut to fit the slider size on top of the cheese.

Cover the sliders with the top halves of the rolls. Melt the butter and brush it over the tops. Sprinkle garlic powder and sesame seeds evenly across the buttered tops for extra flavor and a nice finish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden. Remove from the oven and serve warm.

These sliders are customizable: add dill pickle slices, ketchup, mustard, or your favorite condiments. My husband prefers dill pickles while the kids like ketchup and mustard.

Frequently asked questions

What can I serve with these hamburger sliders?

They’re great with baked fries, onion rings, or a fresh salad. Cheese curds or a simple slaw also pair nicely.

What kind of buns can I use?

Hawaiian sweet rolls work best, but brioche or soft dinner rolls of similar size will work—just use 12 buns total.

Can I assemble these the night before and bake them the next day?

It’s not recommended. Assembling in advance can make the bottom rolls soggy. Prepare and bake the same day for best texture.
