Gluten Free Corned Beef Sandwich

March brings corned beef season, and this sandwich is a favorite for good reason. It captures the classic deli taste while using gluten-free ingredients so more people can enjoy it. If you love the flavor of rye but need to avoid gluten, Three Bakers’ Rye-Style Gluten Free Bread offers the familiar look and taste without actual rye flour.

Russian Dressing

The homemade Russian dressing is what really makes this sandwich shine. It’s creamy, tangy, and slightly spicy—simple ingredients combine into a distinctive sauce that pairs perfectly with corned beef.

This dressing blends mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, gluten-free Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. The horseradish gives it a bright bite that complements the rich meat; it’s one of those additions that surprises you by how well it works. It’s also delicious as a dip for potato chips or alongside fries.

Recipe Notes

For this sandwich I used Three Bakers’ Rye-Style Gluten Free Bread, which contains no actual rye and is made without gluten. The bread is also dairy-free and soy-free, making it suitable for several dietary needs. When possible, make the Russian dressing the day before serving—this gives the flavors time to blend and deepen.

My preferred build includes a generous smear of Russian dressing, layers of sliced corned beef, and a scoop of coleslaw for crunch and acidity. If you prefer sauerkraut, it works beautifully here too—use whatever you like best.

Enjoy!
