Sheet Pan Mushroom & Burrata Pizza with White Garlic Sauce is a rich, homemade pizza topped with caramelized mushrooms and fresh burrata.

There’s never a wrong time for pizza. While delivery is convenient, making pizza at home is a simple way to change up the routine and enjoy something special. This Sheet Pan Mushroom & Burrata Pizza features a creamy white garlic sauce, caramelized mushrooms and onions, shredded mozzarella, and fresh burrata — a truly decadent combination.

What’s in this Sheet Pan Mushroom & Burrata Pizza?
The ingredient list is short because this recipe uses store-bought pizza dough for convenience, though homemade dough works great if you prefer. To save time, pick up dough from the grocery store or your favorite pizzeria.
- Pizza dough
- Heavy whipping cream (or whole milk)
- Garlic
- Unsalted butter
- All-purpose flour
- Shredded mozzarella
- Baby bella mushrooms
- Burrata
- Yellow onion
- Italian seasoning, salt and pepper

Tips for Making this Sheet Pan Mushroom & Burrata Pizza
- Par-bake the dough. Roll the dough into the shape of your sheet pan (9×13 works well) and bake it for 5–7 minutes before adding toppings. This prevents a soggy crust.
- Hand-shred your mozzarella. Freshly shredded cheese melts better and has a superior texture compared to pre-shredded packaged cheese. If you can, shred a block of mozzarella by hand.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make this pizza vegan?
Yes. Substitute vegan cheese for the dairy mozzarella and use a plant-based milk such as cashew or oat milk in the white sauce to replicate the creaminess.
How long will this pizza keep?
Stored in an airtight container, leftovers will keep in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. Reheat gently to preserve texture.
Do I have to use a sheet pan?
No. You can shape the dough into a round and bake it on a pizza stone or another preferred surface; adjust bake time as needed.
I don’t like mushrooms. What can I use instead?
Substitute any vegetable or protein you prefer—roasted peppers, spinach, caramelized onions, or cooked sausage are all excellent alternatives.

Sheet Pan Mushroom & Burrata Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 pkg Pizza dough or homemade
- 1 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups Heavy whipping cream or whole milk
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 16 oz Baby bella mushrooms (about 2 cups)
- 1/2 cup Sliced yellow onion
- 2 cups Shredded mozzarella
- 8 oz Burrata
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C). Spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
-
Roll the pizza dough into a 9×13″ rectangle. Partially bake the crust for 6–7 minutes, then remove and set aside.
-
Heat a medium skillet over medium-high. Add mushrooms and cook briefly, then add a splash of olive oil, the sliced onion, and season with salt and pepper. Sauté until mushrooms and onions are golden brown. Remove and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook about 1 minute to form a roux. Gradually whisk in the cream, lower the heat to medium-low, and continue whisking until the sauce thickens, about 4 minutes. Stir in minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; whisk until smooth.
-
Spread the white garlic sauce over the par-baked crust, leaving a 1-inch border. Top with the sautéed mushrooms and onions, shredded mozzarella, and torn pieces of burrata. Bake about 15 minutes or until the cheese is golden and the crust is cooked through. Slice and serve.
